Hair Care: Curly Doll Hair
Recently I was asked how to care for curly doll hair by a lovely customer who had purchased Kidz 'n' Cats Laura, a doll with the most beautiful curly brunette hair. I contacted Sonja Hartmann who is the doll artist creator of the Kidz 'n' Cats and Petite Fleur dolls, and she gave me this great advice. Curly-haired dolls like Laura and Ariane can have their hair washed, if care is taken not to get water inside the doll so as to prevent mildew. Kanekalon the fibre used for the wigged hair, is very similar to human hair. If you wash the curls carefully in luke warm water, using a mild human hair shampoo and mild conditioner then towel dry the hair, being careful not to disturb the curls more than necessary you should get a good result. Dry the hair on a very low heat, or preferably air dry only. Sonja was careful to stress that the biggest enemy of doll hair is heat. Visiting the Toy Fairs is a highlight of being in the doll business for me. All the new dolls for the year are shown for the first time and it is so very exciting. I can quite honestly say that through the dark cold Winter months with lots of Christmas orders to pack it's looking forward to the Toy Fairs that keeps me going. Hannah and her dog fun fact 2012!
Each year, Gotz launch Hannah & Her Dog in a new costume, with a pet dog, lead, harness and cute dog carrier bag.Take a look at Hannah and Her Dog 2012.This doll was initially issued with a black dog. However, not enough of the black dogs were made to satisfy the demand for this doll combination, so in the later part of 2012 Hannah and Her Dog was issued with a white dog!

Not only do I have an excuse to buy all the latest dolls as they become available, which is of couse a lot of fun, I get to meet and make online friends with lots of doll enthusiasts, who are nanas, mothers, daughters, adult collectors and children. -
