Sophie has a vinyl body with 9 joints and her face paint is very natural just like a real girl, and she even has an upper eyelid of real fibre eyelashes. Her vinyl limbs have joints at elbows and knees, in addition to shoulders and hips, and her head tilts and turns. She has fibre eyelashes adhered to the upper eyelid. Her eyes are fixed inset eyes and do not close.
One of the consequences of having so many joints is that these dolls are not as inflexible as some other dolls therefore there is indeed a technique to posing them.The Happy Kidz body is modelled on a typical 10-11 year old girl. Gotz moulds are designed with a degree of asymmetry to make dolls look more real as a reflection of the fact that in reality people are not symmetrical. Gotz's high quality, real looking hair is durable enough for washing, combing and styling.
Sophie is safety tested for children from Age 3but we think the Happy Kidz range is best for children age 6 and above, as their jointed vinyl bodies can be tricky to position for younger children.
I live in the European Union, will there be extra charges if I order from My Doll Best Friend?
Our prices already include VAT which we pay to the European Union, so you do not have to do this! This means that our prices are final and your order will leave our warehouse and be sent directly to your shipping address - just like when the UK was in the EU. You will not have to pay anything extra. There will be no duty, no tax and no administration fee when your order enters an EU country.

Do you offer layaway?
We offer two types of spread payments. With Klarna you receive your order straight away. Klarna is only available to customers in the UK.
With Partial.ly you receive your order when you have made the final payment, typically after 3 months. Partial.ly is available to all customers, including our international customers.
Will you take photos of a doll for me?
We have tried to do this and found that it is not manageable for us as a team, so now we don't photograph dolls on an individual basis.
Will you measure a doll /clothes / shoes for me?
Our pick and pack team in the warehouse provides an excellent dispatch service, as well as managing all incoming inventory. We don't ask them to measure or photograph stock.
When we used to do it the process was to: pick a doll / clothes / shoes, return to the desk, take out a tape measure, note down measurements, email this to the customer service team for the customer service team to forward the information to a customer. The customer would then review the information, ask for amends and our warehouse team would be taken away from their key duties, which we found compromised their core work so we don't do it anymore.
