The yarn choice was pure luck. I raided my stash to see what I had enough of in the right weight, and found this. The color made me think of the Loden capes and coats they wear in Austria, perfect to go with the Dirndl.
Just popping in quickly as I was so looking forward to seeing your coat with the cape! Oh well done, Peggy! They work perfectly together and look a bit Dickensian 🙂 Vroni will be nice and warm. I have that coat pattern somewhere! I look forward to Vroni in her dirndl and Coat ensemble when you have the time. Must dash. Back later!
I hope this is the right place to post this. I adapted the new Kitty Cat 3 cape and hood pattern as the basis for a Tyrolean coat for winter. I eliminated one pattern repeat for the cape part, but I knitted the hood as written. The Jacknits coat pattern also has a hat that I think will look Tyrolean. I’ve started it, and I don’t think it will take too long. Then Vroni will don her Dirndl for a walk down the runway to show off her coat and hat, but she was wearing her casual clothes for her fitting, and I just had to get photos of her wearing it.
