Elisa is a 29cm long Mini Bambina doll by Ciao Bimba. She's a Waldorf inspired doll made in a limited series of just 50.
All the materials the doll is made with are natural fibres and safe for children. Ciao Bimba source the wool from local farmers who wash and card the wool themselves. They then send it to a lab to be tested for pesticides before using it to make the dolls. The boucle wool used to make their crocheted wigs is sourced from UK. The Nicky velour fabric for the dolls' baby clothes is well known for it's breathability and softness, ideal for cuddling close to a child's skin. The dolls are made by a trained team of doll makers at the Ciao Bimba workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria to the design drawn up by Waldorf doll artist Maria Asenova.
Why does it matter what exact materials are used? It matters to parents and grandparents to know that the doll that their child will cuddle up with at night is made from the finest natural materials. For those parents whose children have allergies, natural toys are especially important.
