The Tudor dress from Carpatina is an exquisite 3 piece costume. The dress and accessories will fit Carpatina dolls.
The set consists of dress, underskirt and headdress.
The dress is made from three main fabrics and is fully lined; it fastens with metal poppers at the back. The main fabric is a decadent copper dressmaker's brocade which the sleeves, bodice and skirt of the dress are made from. This fabric overlaps the golden centre piece of skirt and is stitched to it. The brocade sleeves end in a full cuff from and the white satin lining to the dress is revealed as it falls as a lower cuff, as if the doll is wearing a white blouse underneath. The cuffs fasten with metal hook and eyes. Draping from the shoulders of the sleeves is the third fabric, a soft brown, felty material and this gives the dress it's very regal shape. Around the square neckline is an ivory trim adorned with amethysts and at the centre is a silver metal filigree tear shaped pendant with three further tear shaped pearl pendants attached. The waist is accentuated with the ivory fabric trim seen around the neckline but this time it has no amethysts. It is instead woven with pearls. The trim falls in a 'v' shape at the waistline and then hangs loose to move with the dress. Underneath the dress is a separate long, stiff white net underskirt with a stretchy waist. This could be worth with other dresses to give them fullness.
The headdress is made from reinforced deep red velvet and is worn over the front of the head and fastened in place using the red satin ribbon ties. At the top of the headdress is the same detail as on the square neckline of the dress and edging the lower part of the headdress is a row of ivory pearls.
This is a beautiful Tudor costume and one of our favourites.
