Fun in Faith Brings Seasons Greetings
At this time of year, it is easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of social gatherings, mini banquets and reels of gift wrap, but it is good to reflect on the true meaning of this festive time.
Here at My Doll Best Friend, we like to offer this through the power of dolls, and so we have collaborated with beautiful brand Fun In Faith, whose dolls are sculpted by renowned doll artist Sonja Hartmann well-known for her Kidz ‘n’ Cats brand, to bring you a festive collection of dolls, with a religious background. As both Christmas and Hanukkah are celebrated in December these dolls with glorious olive skin, two sets of exquisite flowing robes and a pretty pair of sandals, standing at a petite 21cm, promise to be a beautiful and meaningful addition to many a doll collection. There are a further three Esther dolls which stand at 45cm and tell the story of Hadassah Esther, Princess Esther and Queen Esther, the woman who had the courage to save her people from disaster. The morals of these stories are there for all humankind, whether you are Christian, Jewish or of another faith, or none at all – just trying to be a good human being.
The charming, charismatic dolls from South African brand Fun in Faith are beautiful collector’s items that aim to remind us all of the stories of the Tanakh and Old Testament. Based on the different women depicted in the bible, including Rebekah, Ruth, Rahab, Hannah and Esther, each stunning creation comes along with her own booklet to tell her story, so that the lesson she has to tell is never forgotten. Hopefully many will recognise the traditional tales told, with every one starting with a problem that the woman has to work through, and a happy ending for all of them. At the end of each booklet, the bible reference is noted, and the central message is highlighted in one laser-cut word on the disc of the accompanying bracelet, or pendant for the larger dolls. These extra special touches help to enforce the moral of the story and will be sure to delight and entertain those who are lucky enough to play.
While the messages will be valuable for all, the booklet comes in both Christian and Jewish versions, so that these beautiful girls can be an important part of your family’s Christmas or Hanukkah celebrations. The stories told are essentially the same, but with certain aspects amended to suit the religion. For example, the Christian God is referred to as HaShem in the Jewish booklet, while the original Tanakh is referred to as The Old Testament in the Christian version. The dolls also come with a printed backdrop to help depict the story scene, and everything is packaged in a plastic storage case, making this an ideal gift for any collector. The high quality of these exquisite dolls is exceptional, and the attention to detail is superb. They are the perfect dolls to retell these age-old stories that have continued to astound both adults and children for centuries. The only way to keep such traditions alive is to find new ways to bring them to life, and we can’t think of a better way than through these stunning dolls and gift packs.
