Mandy wants me to see if we can adapt this pattern to her size. I just finished mine yesterday. Palette in Mulberry, Caribbean, Limeade Heather and bare. The pattern is Midcoast by Jennifer Steingass, but it was supposed to be a pullover. I prefer cardis, so I manipulated the pattern so the BOR was center front, instead of the back neck and added steek sts to the front. This is what I’ve been working on.

Andrea, here’s one I did with your dress pattern. I raised the neckline 1/4″ and added sleeves. That was September, 2017.

    Hi everyone!

Pam, I hope you get a computer to work for you soon! I miss your lovely photos and seeing Spring in England in the background!

This afternoon I worked on a new version of my basic dress. I added puffed sleeves. Getting the sleeve pattern right is a real issue for me and I’ve already gone through a few tries. It’s making the armhole and the sleeve to fit together properly that I find challenging. I’ve got this first version done, but I think the sleeves are too full, which makes it hard to get the gathering in the right position on both sleeves. This time I think they look lopsided as one is fuller at the top than the other. I may take out some of the fullness in the pattern and see if I like that look better.

I’ve had to modify my bodice pattern to use for sleeves. Using the sleeveless dress pattern doesn’t work as there isn’t enough ease once you sew the sleeves on. Once I get the basic patterns designed properly, I want to make up some fancy versions. I have various sleeve types, necklines and trim ideas to make it fun. I also have an idea for a pleated version that I think could be really cute.

Here’s Lilly with the first dress from Version 1.1 of the new pattern. It’s a poor quality photo, but at least you can see what I am working on.

Hope you get your masks done soon. I spent the morning doing some digitizing and this afternoon I got a panel ready to bind. Trying to get ready to start new things in April.

Darn it! I have a fix for that, too, if you were here. I have one of those iPad/iPhone attachments that lets you download photos directly from your camera memory card. Good luck getting the old laptop to work. I hope you’re successful.

Thanks, Peggy. However I can’t download them from my camera!
My phone photos are rubbish. I’m hoping to get an old laptop running.

You could email photos to me and I could post them. I can post photos from my phone or iPad, but it’s easier on the computer.

I’m here, Peggy, on my phone! Just can’t do photos. However I’m working on a solution!
I love the Pj’s you make. Hope you get your masks done and can reward yourself with some dolly sewing 🙂

    It’s quiet here without Pam.

We’re under house arrest, too, but no ankle monitors. It’s the honor system. Speaking of Honor, she’s looking at me, wondering where her clothes are. I’m still making masks. I plan to make Honor the same PJs I made for Mariah, because Elizabeth has the purple ones, and all I have enough flannel for is the green. It looks good on Mariah, so I’m sure the color will suit Honor. They aren’t that much different. Here’s Mariah at Christmastime in 2018.

Hi everyone. Pam, here’s hoping the computer will work until you can get another one.

Peggy, we are using up what we have. DDIL came in a put me on house arrest (self isolation) as the virus is now in our community. My once a week 7 a.m. trip has been removed but I do understand. She got everything I wanted including paper towels.

Andrea, I can’t wait to see what you will be making. I hit a brick wall on sewing. Was making a tree skirt out of jute and I have to start over again and line the thing. The jute frayed like crazy. I took off the trim and put it all to one side. Made 4+ meters of piping for DD instead.

Have a new Keepers Dolly Dud’s pattern to test and hope to start it soon. Looking forward to testing it.
