This discussion is for all your dolly sewing no matter what doll, so for a change here is Matilda in a dress I made her recently. It was more complicated than my usual dresses so I am quite pleased with myself!

Mandy looks wonderful! What gorgeous colours you have used that are perfect for her.
I nearly always put a little cardigan with a homemade dress but I tend to post in sewing when I make the dress myself, but I guess the outfit is fine in either discussion.
I can’t stop looking at your photos, so pretty. Is the bolero Palette… I wonder if I have that colour?
    Thanks, Peggy!

Oops! I reduced the photo and then posted the wrong one. The second photo is this.

This outfit is partly sewn and partly knitted, so here are some photos of the sewn part: a sleeveless summer dress for Mandy (my Katie).

I’ve just been looking at the different threads/ discussions that we already have and there is a thread called Dolls in General so I am thinking we can use that for any miscellaneous dolly chat.

It was a good idea to start a knitting thread for KNC dolls. There was a thread for Sonia Hartmann dolls which had photos of your Julia that you posted in, but it seems to have been closed. Probably because no one had posted for a while… not sure. Anyway, good you have somewhere to post your KNC knitted outfits. The sewing ones can go here for the time being, but if we get inundated then we can start a separate thread. For now all sewing projects can continue here, but we can certainly keep reviewing what works best. Hope that is ok.

We don’t want extra IT work to cost the company too much. It would be nice to have a photo section where we could just get inspired, with links from each photo to the person who posted it, in case we have questions, like where the pattern came from.

Good suggestions. When I write a reply I sometimes forget everything I was responding to, and it can be very hard to find the post, it can be so far from the text box.

I’ve started one for sewing chat as opposed to photos of what we all have made, as we want to keep the forum dolly related. People can private message each other if they want to just chat but not about dolls 🙂

I think at sometime we will need to clean up the discussions and rename some of them perhaps to make it easier for people to find their way to what they want… it has really just evolved by itself!!

Good Idea, Sandi. I have started a separate sewing chat thread for general sewing discussions for any doll.

I will have a think about what to do with this discussion as we are getting a lot of different threads now… we already have some different threads for different dolls so I guess things we sew for them could go in those threads. I know when I sew a dress and put it on Kitty, then I never know whether to post in Kitty or sewing for Gotz dolls!!!

I usually just press the end button on my computer and shoot to the end of a thread as the pages are long now on a lot of them. I have asked MDBF if we can have pages but I guess that is a problem for their IT!

If anyone has any ideas then let me know!

P.S. And maybe a Discussion thread, just for chatting?
