Is there a styling gel I could use on Billy? I’m thinking I might need to deal with the back of his hair that way. (I cut off a lot of his hair today. There is still a lot to work with, but the haircut will need some tweaking.)

As long as it doesn’t remove freckles. LOL!

You are welcome, Ginny. It is not that difficult really, more a case of just having the nerve!!

I’ll try to remember this series of posts, in case Billy’s haircut doesn’t go well.

Thanks, Pam. I’d already found Ellie’s doll workshop and looked at Monique wigs, but I hadn’t found the measuring guide so that’s really helpful. I’ve been dithering about which wig to choose, but I think I’ve decided. Not sure about the colour, but it’s reassuring that you have to order by phone so I expect someone will be able to help me.
I’ll keep you posted on progress. Good to know that you’ve done it! That give me courage….

I forgot to say Good Luck! A wig can make such a great difference.

Hi Ginny, I have rewigged a few dolls. I always use Monique’s wigs which I get from Ellie’s Doll Workshop in the UK which is here. You have to phone up to order but they are super helpful. I first choose the wigs from Monique.com and Ellie’s orders them each month. Monique has a measuring guide here.
I hope that helps. I used Tacky glue which I buy from Amazon.

I can’t bear Molly’s reproachful little face any more – I must do something about her wig! (You might remember that her original wig came off in the heat of summer – and it’s horribly frizzled.)

If any of you have re-wigged a doll, could you tell please tell me where you measure – is it the diameter of the doll’s head ( like measuring for a hat) or do you measure round the outside edge of the wig?

Those differences may matter or not. I’ll ask Martha. The illustration is helpful, thanks!

Not sure if this will help or not, Peggy, but here is a photo of the two body types side by side. Hannah has much thicker legs, and the space between the legs is a lot narrower.
