Oh Peggy! What a laugh you gave me (and DH)! Such fab photos – great accessories and great set up too. A great way to start this thread. Thank you!
Oh and Mondays I very rarely sew… in and out all day but I might get some knitting in later 🙂
Great idea, but don’t spend too much time on us. When will you sew?
Just to keep with the topic, I thought I’d share one of my favorite props for doll photography. My iPad. I really need to build a surround for it to make it more realistic, but this will give you an idea. The first one is the Fireplace app, which I use to make my brain think it’s warmer in the house.
The second one is my doll flat-screen TV. I have Pride and Prejudice and a few other films on my iPad, and the girls like to watch.
I should mention the “chocolates,” since they appear in the photos. I made the box from instructions I found online, covered the box with satin, inserted a piece of flat styrofoam covered with satin in the bottom and use appliqué pins painted black (with a felt marker) through black beads, and my girls had a box of chocolates.

I’m not sure if I can transfer comments about props from the other threads here but I will try!
Well, I have managed to transfer over a few but it is giving me a headache scrolling through all the posts to find them lol!!
Maybe I will do some more another time! At least from now on we will have all the advice on props in one place!
Thanks Peggy, that’s the first time I have done any styling on my Gotz girls and it wasn’t as hard as I first thought it would be.

I use several different sizes as I have some very small dolls in my collection as well as those Gotz size.
I have several little baskets, and it’s fairly easy to find little books in bookshops. I took my granddaughter shopping to get books and miniature cooking supplies. We found all kinds of things in the kitchen department.
There have been some wonderfully creative and lovely photos here that are just amazing. So in that spirit, I thought I’d pass on to you a link to Lee & Pearl’s latest newsletter with tons of ideas for props for photos. Some you make and some are amazingly perfect finds and they tell you where you can look for them yourself.
Just to make it easier to find things, we are starting a new thread on Accessories and Props so any ideas you have or find for making these for our dolls please post here. Also any props you buy or backgrounds you can show off here too. Anything that makes your photos more fun, and makes ‘playing’ more fun can be put here!
To start the ball rolling, here is the Gotz dressing table and chair that I bought last year – such fun!
