  3. Kruselings by Kathe Kruse Toy Fair 2018 Highlights

These sweet little dolls first became available in Autumn 2017 and have proved particularly popular with our international customers. The Kruselings were displayed in a woodland forest, caught on branches to make the magical fairy versions look like they were flying: sweet! On the woodland floor the casually dressed Kruselings were busily playing. Some were climbing trees, others carrying wood, some helping each other climb over the fallen tree trunks, while others played hide and seek.

  4. Ciao Bimba Dolls at Nuremberg Toy Fair 2018

It was a pleasure to see these beautiful Ciao Bimba Waldorf style dolls again, and hard to believe that they've only been available for us to buy for just a year! as they're now so familiar, and integral to our cuddly doll selection at My Doll Best Friend. Here are some of our favourites from the toy fair (click on the images to make them larger): [gallery theme="photomosaic" ids="20858,20857,20860,20861,19991,19985"] The babies are so cute to look at and to hold, their soft but firm structure -dressed in soft warm fabric -just cannot be surpassed: they are made for cuddling tightly! Ciao Bimba only launched the brand in 2017 and we found they were constantly doing something new throughout the year as they came to understand their business more based on hearing repeated requests. The 46cm Darling dolls were introduced as Mini Darling dolls at 40cm due to the discovery that this was the more popular size. Children can easily hold the 40cm dolls. In addition, the brand found

Gotz Dolls Celebrates 60 Years at the Toy Fair

Gotz celebrated 60 years at the Spielwarenmesse this year! Isn't it a magnificent accomplishment for a family to have led the doll business in Europe for more than six decades and remain privately owned? Gotz does not brag about its innovations and its compelling place in doll history, or its leading role in today's children's doll market.

Llorens' New Fashion Doll Line - Angelina, Olga, Sophie and Helene

We have some charming new dolls for you, from a new brand to us: Llorens. I came across them at the Nuremberg Toy Fair as I looked into the space where WeGirls was last year. Llorens is predominantly a baby and toddler doll brand, but on the centre table the dolls were a little more grown up. As I approached I took in their poses and characteristics; heads were tilted, arms raised and held at angles, cute clothing, knobbly little knees.....

  9. Gotz Dolls At The Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017

Gotz Dolls has excelled this year, with new dolls in the Happy Kidz and Hannah ranges, fashion inspired doll clothing and fabulous fantasy pieces to make doll play engaging for children who have a wide variety of interests.

Gotz is the benchmark for beautiful play dolls and the brand has been at the Nuremberg Toy Fair every year since it made its debut in the 1950's, with the founder Franz Goetz meeting his first customers, building the foundations of his family run business in whose hands it is still, today.

As technology has advanced the Gotz family tells me what happens now at the fair is different to what happened before. Originally the toy fair was the place Gotz would write its year's orders. The Gotz dolls would be proudly displayed in the booth, the family would meet new customers and crucially - take orders. These days, with Gotz products available online, immediate email response, dolls catalogued with photographs

Schildkrot Dolls At The Nuremberg Toy Fair 2014

Visiting the Toy Fairs is a highlight of being in the doll business for me. All the new dolls for the year are shown for the first time and it is so very exciting. I can quite honestly say that through the dark cold Winter months with lots of Christmas orders to pack it's looking forward to the Toy Fairs that keeps me going. I really look forward to seeing the dolls, meeting the owners and designers of the brands and then putting together orders for the dolls that I think you will like to see in the shop for the year ahead.
